Wondrous Things are Coming, Friend

Hi, all!

First, I’d like to say thank you to all of the people who have downloaded and purchased The Forests of Faera over the past few months. It is wonderful to know that there are so many people out there that appreciate my work. Your positive response warms my heart, and I could not have gotten this far without you! :)

I’m posting here to announce two things to you.

Firstly, Adam Blinkinsop and Sage LaTorra talked about my game in their latest episode of their podcast “Another Question”. I’d like to thank them for their kind words. I was so stoked! I think that it’s a wondrous thing, hearing someone talk about your game and give design feedback on it. Yes, even the parts that need to be improved. Secondly, a big update to The Forests of Faera is on its way! Throughout the past few months, I have had many players share with me their intimate thoughts about the game, including things they liked and disliked, various aspects that made the game feel great or broke that experience, and even some flavourful and mechanical elements that they wished were (or, in some cases, were not) present in the game. I want you to know that I have been listening to your feedback. In light of improving the game as a whole, expanding on the original idea, and crafting a more robust, flavourful, and inclusive player experience, I have been hard at work polishing the game’s rough edges.

I am considering this next, big update as the proper release version of the game; the version of the game that I wanted to create when the idea first sparkled in my mind way back during the 1 HP Game Jam. When this update is complete, I will be uploading it here to this page. When I do, I will also be updating the pricing for the game. But fear not, friends! Anyone who has already purchased the current version of the game will be able to download the release version at no extra cost. If you have downloaded the current version for free, then I thank you for doing so! If you’d like to help me continue to work on polished, flavourful, and inclusive games, I would also ask you to support me by purchasing the release version when it comes out. :)
